Sight Unseen
A series of kinetic works recreating the mechanics of human sight. The installations maintain two angles of approach: the first an incoherent mix of objects representing what is seen with the eyes, and the second the same scene transformed through a camera lens as though interpreted by the brain. Scraps from building materials lined with beads are suspended on fishing line from a wooden frame along with bits of colored cellophane, vinyl, loose nails and other detritus. The objects appear to be a collection of randomly positioned odds and ends that form a complete picture once seen through the lens of a view camera.
